Surprisingly, PLA can be glued with acetone just fine, even though it cannot be smoothed with it (it does nothing and in the end, the print just falls apart). WebAcetone behaves the same way, but will dry out faster due to its higher vapor pressure. I wouldn’t expect the plasticity to remain permanently with MEK either. A simple test to rule out a chemical change would be drying the sample near PETG’s glass transition temperature, ideally under vacuum.
