Lately it hasn't felt challenging, we give ourselves goals; all metal everything, plant every plantable, but even those haven't gotten stale. If you’re just going for the trophy instead of actually building camps and playing then just go to all the important spots to gather the items needed to finish the game and skip the extra areas. Only build camps and fires when needed. Did it this way and finished in about two hours with a friend.

The "walk in the park" easy mode doesn't have much danger in it (no hostile natives, no predators). I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for some thrill.
